Beginners Fab Ep 2:Starting Out In Fabrication: Why? How? And What To Expect.

We all have done it. We see someone talk about something they have done. They talk and rave about how great their hobby is, and we get motivated. We want to do it too.

Sometimes it turns out close to what we had expected. Sometimes it turns out even better than expected. Still, there are those times, when... We just wish someone had explained exactly what we should have expected getting into this "FUN", that they had been raving about.

Well... while I want to motivate you, I want you to know what you're getting into as well.

For me, fabrication is just one more way of feeding my ingrained desire to use my hands to make cool stuff. I make furniture, sculptures, art, and steel products. Naturally, part of the steel products would include vehicle parts. I've made everything from fiberglass bumpers (tuner) bumpers to steel off-road bumpers, from custom ram air hoods to 3 link suspension components. It's all just part of the experience and creativity for me. However, that's not to say that it's always been easy or comfortable. Believe me, I've had my close calls, and my share of mishaps. So, before you spend the cash and the time, you need to figure out if it's worth it or not.

This video will explain a good bit of what you should think about before falling down the rabbit hole of fabrication. For most, once you get started, it's hard to stop. Just my warning to you.
