Hello to Beginners Fab!

Hi, my name is Eric McGrew. I'm going to give you a brief run down on what Beginners Fab is, and why I've started it.

First and foremost I am not a high-tech machinist and fabrication guy. What I mean by that is, I don't have a shop full of million-dollar equipment, and I don't have a certificate from some metal working, fabrication, or welding school. I am an average guy, who, thru a creative mind, practice, lots of youtube, and the help from forums and their members, has learned how to create my own unique products for practical purposes.

My purpose with this blog, the videos and post uploaded to it, is to motivate people (like you) to try something that they may see as impossible or unpractical. After being on forums for more than 10 minutes, most guys and gals, I talk with are terrified to try and do any fabrication work on their own vehicles.

So, my purpose is to let you see what I'm doing, how I do it, show you how it turns out, how it works, and then let you make fun of me, or just simply, get motivated to start that project you've been itching to try. Either way, I’ll have accomplished my purpose if you watch my video. So, what's stopping you now?

While my focus on this blog and in the videos will be fabrication skills and vehicle application, this type of work also requires quite a bit of mechanical work as well. Therefore, some videos will be focused on helping people learn how to do engine and suspension maintenance, dis-assembly, and assembly/installation for the vehicles that I'm working on.

So, for now... Welcome. I hope you enjoy it here, and will come back to see what I've got in store.

You can see our first project video for Beginners Fab, titled "Beginners Fab Episode 1: Intro to the Daihatsu Project" by clicking the title.
